SGS WINTER TIPS FOR YOUR ARTIFICIAL LAWN
Artificial grass gives you a year-round great looking garden with low maintenance. However during the winter there are some things you need to remember. Below we have listed some winter tips to help you get the most out of your garden during the colder months. In general artificial grass will cope well with the changes in weather during the winter.
Strong Winds
We recommend that you keep an eye on the leaves dropping from any surrounding trees. Ensure that you are brushing your lawn to protect it from any debris. How often you have to brush your garden depends on your surrounding areas and the amount of debris that your garden recieves.
Snow and Ice
Artificial Grass is resilient, it will handle the turn in the weather better than natural lawns. Let snow and ice melt itself however the great thing about artificial grass is that you can brush snow to the side to allow your pets or children to play in outdoors. If you decide to do this we recommend using a plastic brush rather than a metal brush to bursh against the fibres. We do not recommend using salt to melt any snow or ice as this could damage the grass and clog the drainage.
Surfaces
Artifical grass is just like any other surface when the ice and snow falls, it can be slippery just like natural grass however therefore it is important to be careful when there is ice forecast. The cold weather may make the fibres fall during the winter however ensuring that you give the area a good brush or using a leaf blower along with the introduction of warmer temperatures will help to stand the fibres up again.
Artificial Grass is really a great option for pet owners, as your pets will enjoy artificial turf just as much as real grass but without all the dirt, mess, and ruined lawns! Rest easy with our Winter Tips and enjoy your artificial grass this winter.
